Announcing an exciting new course:

FACILITATING COHERENT MOVEMENT

In a practical and hands-on format this three day course will concisely present essential concepts and skills that will enhance your treatment results.

Coherent movement is a result of two major components. 1) The structural elements of the body must have the capacity to move in a manner that allows optimal transmission of movement and load and 2) this movement must be organized in coordinated and efficient patterns by the nervous system.

This course will present effective skills that will allow you to facilitate improved integration of structural and neurologic organization. Assessment of biomechanical alignment and movement and palpation of inherent movement bias and structural restrictions will form the foundation for the application of the joint, soft tissue and neuromuscular techniques that will be the core focus of the practical instruction.

Course Objectives:

At the conclusion of the course the participant will:

1) Be able to discern key areas of increased stress in posture and basic movements.

2) Demonstrate a basic understanding of the biomechanics of the skeleton, joints and soft tissues.

3) Be able to visually assess habitual movement patterns.

4) Be able to palpate and discern significant joint and soft tissue restrictions.

5) Be able to identify and palpate inherent movement bias.

6) Demonstrate effective skill in the application of joint and soft tissue mobilization techniques to release key restrictions that limit coherent movement.

7) Demonstrate skill in utilizing active neuromuscular facilitation techniques to effectively reorganize habitual movement patterns and assist in releasing structural restrictions.

8) Put all  of the above elements together in a single treatment session.

"I'm not sure if I aspire more to be a craftsman or a teacher in my work with individuals, but I am continually fascinated by the complexity of the human body and the richness of human beings. I am enthralled both by the transformative power of touch and by our capacity as human beings to learn and improve."
